The Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

Awesomized

...and no that is not winter or Christmas like the song says. It's Fall! I LOVE the fall! It is my very favorite season and sadly the colorful leaves only last a good month or so until everything starts to turn brown. It is about the refreshing crisp air when I can wear a sweatshirt and jeans, but still be ok to wear flip flops. When apples are deliciously sweet and everything pumpkin and cinnamon is the best! You know what I am talking about. Visiting the apple orchard/pumpkin patch is a must this time of year...and now that I think of it, it was the first time that I had ever actually gone out to the patch and picked a pumpkin myself. We all had so much fun!

Easter Photo Blog

Awesomized

What a fun week it has been filled with lots of fun activities and visitors. We did resurrection eggs this year (idea made here) and Will has really started to understand who Jesus is and what he did for us. We also dyed eggs with kool-aid, played lots with cousins, went to church a few times (Thad played on Palm Sunday and Maundy Thursday). And I enjoyed planted a miniture wheatgrass tomb scene.(picture above) I planted it last Wednesday and we had tall grass by Easter. It was a great visual for Will and for me!

I think Easter has become my very favorite holiday. The whole experience of several services during Holy Week; learning something new each time...it has given me new perspective this year. HIS love for me just blows my mind everytime. How was your Easter?

40 bags in 40 days

Today is Ash Wednesday. Lent has begun and we are in a season of preparing for Easter! As I get older I have moved Easter to the top of my holiday favs. :) I have also never really enjoyed spring all that much, but it seems like more every year it feels so refreshing! I found a beautiful idea over at August Fields. I like to think of Lent as a time to grow closer to God; a time to give more to God. And 40 Bags in 40 Days seems like the perfect idea! Less of me; more of Him! I wrote down 40 areas of my home that I want to go through and simplify, and for the next 40 days leading up to Easter(not counting Sundays) I will fill those bags with stuff to throw away or donate to those in need. Yay! Here we go...

...oh and I found this. Wouldn't this be awesome to have!

And on another subject...Karlie is 6 months old today!...growing so fast. :)

Valentine's Day!-2012

<span class=

Tuesdays are usually our low key day. It seems to be the only day of the week that we don't ever have anything going on. So we focused on hearts! We started the morning out with this yummy sweetheart smoothie (frozen raspberries and strawberries, a little banana, cranberry juice, fresh coconut meat and coconut water), and almond banana chocolate chip muffins. (by multiplydelicious)

(picture on the right: melted crayon shavings/wax paper hearts that glow in the window when the sun shines through! :)

This year we decided to stay in and have a simple dinner at home as a family. I did spunk up the table a bit more than usual. :) On the menu was herb and garlic marinated chicken breasts and roasted veggies...and for dessert we had chocolate covered strawberries. I even went all out and made the potatoes in the shape of a heart!

Will could not wait to open his mailbox to see what was inside!(car and note from me)...and in Thad's was a paper for each month of the year with a planned out date. I got the idea here. It was fun to be more creative this year...I am thinking a special family Valentine's dinner might be a new tradition. So much better than going out with the crowd. :)

...and from my hubbs to me- the most gorgeous array of flowers and cheesecake bites! yum!

How was your day of love?
