Wise Words from Solomon

Today as I was reading some Proverbs I decided to take out The Message version to see what it had to say. I was so stunned by the way it was written. Solomon talks a lot about having clear thinking, and also about how to live, what is right, what is fair, and how to grasp reality. They are so straight forward and honest. Sometimes the simplest way of saying something is the strongest. I definately am working on that. It is always hard for me to speak instantly the words that I truly mean, therefore much of what I say comes out wrong as I ramble trying to spit it out. Here are a few verses that really stuck out to me and really convicted me of what I need to get right in my life. It is a constant learning adventure. :)

10:19
The more talk, the less truth; the wise measure their words.

15:11
Even hell holds no secrets from God-do you think he can't read human hearts?

15:12
Know it alls don't like being told what to do; they avoid the company of wise men and women.

15:15
A miserable heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song.

15:16
A simple life in Fear-of -God is better than a rich life with a ton of headaches.

16:3
Put God in charge of your work, then what you've planned will take place.

17:8
Receiving a gift is like getting a rare gemstone; anyway you look at it, you see beauty refracted.

18:21
Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit-you choose.

21:17
You're addicted to thrills? What an empty life! The pursuit of pleasure is never satisfied.
