Beautiful

Above: A picture I took of Lost Lake somewhere in Colorado. :)

Beautiful
by Shawn McDonald
As I look into the stars
Pondering how far away they are
How You hold them in your hands
And still You know this man
You know my inner most being, oh
Even better than I know, than I know myself
What a beautiful God
What a beautiful God
And what am I, that I might be called Your child
What am I, what am I
That You might know me, my King
What am I, what am I, what am I
As I look into the distance
Watching the sun roll on by
Beautiful colors all around me, oh
Painted all over the sky
The same hands that created all of this
They created you and I
What a beautiful God
What a beautiful God
And what am I, that I might be called your child
What am I, what am I
That you might know me, my King
What am I, what am I
That you might die, that I might live
What am I, what am I, what am I, what am I
What am I
Sometimes I am so amazed by the beauty of God's creation. It blows me away! Some people really connect with God the most through singing, reading, etc. For me it is more naturalistic; when I am surrounded by nature or learning about our bodies and how detailed we are each designed. It makes me remember how BIG He really is. I am nothing compared to Him. When I was a child, before I even made the connection that it was God who created this, I remember thinking that someone very powerful and important must have made all these beautiful things. It is baffling that the same person who created those mountains, the blue color of the sky, and each leaf on each branch of every tree in the world is the same person who created me. Wow! What am I to think the world should revolve around me at times? Praise God for who he is and how BIG and important he really is. What a beautiful God!
